Nature’s Wisdom
The observation of nature was the beginning of human knowledge and wisdom.
Nature is the ultimate teacher, not because it provides some cheap metaphor that acts as a blackboard used to explain complex matters, but because nature is the sophisticated laboratory in which we were developed.
Homo sapiens have been around for about two hundred thousand years and only left the African plains a mere fifty thousand years ago. Some of the trees and wildlife around you, however, have been around for hundreds of millions of years.
We are related to all life on earth, functioning as a small part of the grand ecosystem in which all organisms developed interdependently. The forest is our ancient ancestor; it bears witness to our existence, the universe’s recent transformation from stardust to stargazer.
