I’ve lived in several cities, but I recently had the opportunity to start anew and purchased a property in a small rural town. While I’ve always loved nature, I never thought I would live deep in the woods of North Carolina. If some part of our DNA and human psyche is rooted in a life close to nature, then I am a case study. Nature has brought me back to life, back to reality, and helped me discover what is important.
Each morning, I wake up, walk outside, and marvel at this beautiful place I call home. There’s never a moment I’m unaware that I’m away from the city and living in the woods with all the vegetation, wildlife, and magnificent trees that make up the eastern woodlands. This is a rural place. If you’re not in the woods, then you’re standing at the crossroads of a 100+ acre farm. It’s a special place to live.
Nature is my teacher, and the lessons she brings are deep and relevant. My hope in starting this blog is to remind you that nature is not some place you just visit; it is your birthplace and your birthright. She is what you’ve been searching for and where to find it.
Join me on this wonderful journey and experience the beauty, awe, and adventure that awaits when you are ready to venture into the woods.
